Today, there is a haven in my country,
where the meats of men are cooked for supper,
the men are laughing, the music is playing,
Jazz like tomorrow owes forever nothing.
Today, another patriot will close his eyes
to bless his supper and open it in a plated casket.
“Hero!” we crown him, but he doesn't live to wear it.
The men are laughing, the music is playing,
Jazz like tomorrow owes forever nothing.
Today, death lost its venue to early souls.
Mourning paints the front page of every newspaper,
the color we are used to but, We don't forget people
as much as we forget ourselves.
The men are laughing, the music is playing,
Jazz like tomorrow owes forever nothing
